FAQs
Everything you need to know about RIPIT Grips, sizing, installation, and performance. Built for golfers who want confidence, comfort, and standout style on every swing.
Sizing
What size golf grip should I use?
The right grip size depends on your hand size, comfort, and swing feel. Most golfers play Standard+ grips, while players wanting a slimmer feel may prefer Undersized grips. Golfers looking for a thicker, more stable feel often choose Jumbo grips.
What’s the difference between midsize and standard grips?
RIPIT grips are engineered as a Standard+ size, giving golfers a slightly fuller feel compared to traditional standard grips. If you prefer a midsize feel, simply add 2–3 extra wraps of tape underneath during installation. This helps reduce grip pressure, minimise wrist movement, and improve comfort throughout the swing — and we guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
Why doesn’t RIPIT offer a midsize grip?
We wanted to simplify the process and eliminate unnecessary confusion when choosing grip sizes. Our Standard+ design gives golfers the flexibility to customise the feel with additional tape wraps while reducing production waste and keeping our lineup streamlined.
What swing grip size should I buy?
Your ideal grip size depends on your hand size, grip pressure, and personal feel preference. Undersized grips suit golfers wanting a lighter, slimmer feel, Standard+ delivers balanced comfort and control, while Jumbo grips provide extra stability and reduced hand tension.
Performance
Do golf grips actually affect performance?
Absolutely. Your grip is the only connection between you and the golf club. The right grip can improve confidence, consistency, comfort, and control throughout your swing. Fresh grips also help maintain proper grip pressure and reduce tension during play.
Is RIPIT just about looks?
Not even close. We built RIPIT grips to combine standout artwork with real on-course performance. Our textured patterns and premium rubber compounds are designed to deliver traction, feel, durability, and confidence in all playing conditions.
Are softer grips better?
Softer grips can improve comfort and reduce vibration, while firmer grips often provide more feedback and responsiveness. RIPIT grips are designed to balance comfort, tackiness, texture, and durability so you can swing confidently without sacrificing feel.
Are RIPIT grips suitable for wet weather?
Yes. RIPIT grips are built using high-quality rubber compounds and textured surface patterns to provide reliable traction in both dry and wet playing conditions.
How long do golf grips last?
Most golfers should replace their grips every 12–18 months depending on how often they play. If your grips feel slippery, shiny, hardened, or worn down, it’s time for a fresh set.
Why are fresh grips important?
Worn grips can lead to excess grip pressure, reduced control, and inconsistent swings. Fresh grips help golfers maintain confidence, comfort, and better connection to the club throughout the round.
Installation
How do I install golf grips?
RIPIT grips install like most standard golf grips using double-sided grip tape and grip solvent. Remove the old grip, apply tape to the shaft, add solvent, then slide the new grip into place and allow it to dry.
What grip tape should I use?
We recommend using quality double-sided golf grip tape designed specifically for regripping clubs. Additional tape wraps can also be used to customise the overall grip thickness to your preference.
Can I install RIPIT grips myself?
Absolutely. Many golfers install RIPIT grips at home using a basic regripping kit. It’s a simple process and a great way to customise your clubs exactly how you like them.
